Default Port Autority- how long hiring process?

Hi, Are there any Port Authority electricians here? I passed the practical test almost 4 months ago in May. In August I got a request to submit my diploma and got the information that they were doing my background check. It's October and no job offer. How long does the hiring process take? How long did it take you from your practical exam to getting job offer?

When does their fiscal year start? Maybe they're waiting for new budget money.

PATH is paranoid.

Ya THINK ?

I'd imagine that you're being given the FULL FBI back ground check.

YES.

That takes months. ( I've been through it. )

Then, when hired, you have a career FOR LIFE.

If so, you've entered millionaire acres.

I'm not kidding.

Out here, California, BART is your peer. Retired BART electricians live in the most elite neighborhoods -- in million dollar homes.

No, I'm not exaggerating.

Is that enough for you to wait for ?

i do have a question I did take the electrician test And failed. Knowing what I now know I can freshen up what I learned in school so many years ago lol. Does anyone know how that works? Do I need to reapply for the position? Do I have a chance to take it a second time. There websites are very generalized. And almost nothing says what happens if you don't qualify for the written test?

First off, welcome aboard!

Secondly, yes you'd have to reapply as far as I am aware like any other job.
