I don't find it difficult at all. I cannot lie to a customer and tell them an AFCI is going to prevent fires or bring any level of safety to their home when I know full well it will not. I'll install them only because I'm forced to and I have to tell the customer that. I'm far more on the side of consumer advocacy and property rights than I am about selling "whiz bangs" as you call them.
