Last time I bought one (for about 3/4 price of anywhere else) was at Mark's Work Wearhouse. I haven't seen it there since then though.

No cheap place to buy them cheap. You can get them at a wholesaler, might be cheaper at SAIT or NAIT bookstore or order online directly from them.

It cost you $5 per month.

Normally on a 4 year cycle, that's $3.75 per month. Not that crazy really.

I believe Amazon sells the previous cycle NEC for .99 cents as a "clearance item".(got my 2011 version for .99 cents) Not sure about the CEC, but if you don't absolutely have to have the current version, it's worth a look.

Go in with a couple other people and buy the digital version. It says right on the first page that you have the right to print it.

Here in Ontario the price has been going up but this year that base price
includes access to online bulletins, so I'm not unhappy with the increase
this time around.
