Default Ran into this...

Ran into this yesterday at a condo. This was the meter pack. I can’t say electrical they are related, but the customer was telling me how she has had numerous electrical issues with her unit. I assumed bad craftsmanship. I could hear it arcing when I got there. Customer said she has had at least 5-6 electrical contractors that never found this problem and the meterman from the local utility said he couldn’t find the problem and had replaced the meter 3 times. Top left jaws weren’t biting the bus and this is what years of arcing and sparking looked like I guess.

Now the important part, did you fix it or did you have to replace the whole meterbase?

I was actually able to order just that piece and get it installed. I stuck about 1/4 bottle of no-lox on it. Clearly the entire set of condos was built by hacks!

The moron utility guy replaced the meter 3 times and didn't see that? Unacceptable.

Did you have the POCO replace / clean up the meter bus before it was reinstalled or did you do this all yourself?

Wouldn't a new base have been faster?
