Default Seriously. This is good?

Just installed a "free" 150 watt induction fluorescent cobrahead on this . I'm ashamed of the amount of lumens this thing emits. A 150 hps would have lit the whole lot upSeriously. This is good?-uploadfromtaptalk1423694888533.jpg

I've noticed the parking lot and gas station LED retrofit are weak.

Well that explains a lot.
Especially the "free" part.

So how did the Smoke Shop become the guinea pig?
Did you let the TOI let them know it's crap.

So many better fixtures out there.....

Town of smithtown got the good LEDs.
Traded it as free. Install was $100 cash and two cartons of smoking joes.

I was traveling in Queens - noticed the Belt and the Cross Island Pkwys have converted to LEDs. Wonder what else has been done.

I wonder if Con Ed rate of at least 25% of NYC's street lights are out at one time will go down...

Nice lighting, not too bright, not weak, just right......

Now they need to do the lighting for the overhead signage on the parkways as well.

NYC just replaced all their streetlights to American Electric 125 cobra heads rated at 150 watt HPS in 2009. I can't see them replacing all so soon. The cross and belt still had the original GE cobraheads from 1990.

Haven't been on the other parkways so I don't know what else has been changed. I do recall the 2009 changeover. Did they all go HPS or did some go MH?

I figure the parkways/hi-ways/expwys. etc will get done 1st than the major arteries and then the local residential streets.

Nice gig for Welsbach (if they still have the contract).

Back in the day Con Ed was charging the city $6 a month or $6 a year for the electric whether or not the fixture was running or not.

Wondered what the charge is for LED.

The PoCo has a street light on the front corner of my lot and a couple of weeks ago they switched out the MH (that had a very old lamp that barely put out light) fixture for a new LED. The poor guy across the street is lit up big time. I asked him about it and he said it's like someone is parked outside with their brights on shinning on his windows.

I'm sure glad it's not me over there.

The country government lectures the public about conserving energy, and wants to cut our carbon footprint and all that. Streetlights however get a big pass. Millions of them on all night long doing nothing to stop the spread of measles...

What contradicts all logic is these induction fluorescents have 10x more mercury in them than a 175 MV bulb.
