like others said, dont bother troubleshooting smokes. I recommend replacing if theyre over 7 years old.....5 for carbon monoxide alarms
$8 seems cheap for a 120 volt smoke with battery backup. I might have to check that out.

Just don't replace them with kiddie ion/photo combos. Then you will be back in two months when they alarm for no reason again.
