Default sources for used equipment?

I'm looking for a 3 phase 400 amp transfer switch. Are there good sources for used stuff like this?

If time is on your side, Ebay is my go to source anymore. If you’re up against the clock, well you’ll have to get creative. Try some bigger contractors that may have a good takeout or a NOS they want out of inventory.

Try Voyten Electric they are very good to deal with. I used them several times when I worked at the plant. They are in Polk PA 1 800-458-4001.

Are you talking about an automatic transfer switch? If you are you may want to rethink that. I just installed one that had a bad control board out of the box. If we wouldn't have gotten it from an authorized dealer I'm not sure they would have stood behind the warranty.

To each their own, but I would never install a used transfer switch.

Not sure of your situation though.

Transfer switch = you only use it when you NEED to have power. So you will not realize the folly of buying a used one until you need it and it fails...But again, to each his/her own.

If you persist in this, at least buy it from someone that will check it out and stand behind it. PEARL (Professional Electrical Apparatus Reconditioning League) has a link where you can ask for what you want and if someone has one, they will respond.
