In AR, MO, MS, AL, TN and probably quite a few other places, if you aren't in a city that hires inspectors you can do pretty much whatever you want to.

No wonder they have so much damage in a storm.

Maybe you don't realize it, but you're an enabler. Now she knows if she begs and pleads enough, you'll eventually show up to save her. Even if she gave the original contract to wire it to someone else.

You have more patience than I, I'm not here to save people from their own stupid mistakes.

I think the sheer number of trees has something to do with it. OK is the place that has all the storm damage every year. Never worked out there even though it's only an hour and a half drive from here.

You must have read what I said wrong because I flatly refused to do the work she wanted me to do. I only went and fixed the electric work that they discovered needed relocating after someone else did cut the holes.

As long as you're in Memphis, Chattanooga, Nashville or Knoxville it's pretty much like any other big town. It's just when you get out away from civilization that you get into the "whatever goes" territory. I do the same quality of work rurally as I would if it were being inspected with few exceptions. Some people think I charge too much and some people think I'm selling myself short. I'm happy with my situation which is all I care about.

Anywhere she can get a good trauma job in a hospital she wants to go. I'd think that means huge cities but.... her list is kinda big. I'd also work just as hard rural or not, it's integrity, morals etc etc. I just think it would be almost fun to work in a no ahj zone, maybe for a short time only though.

Yeah, my wife's family lives in SW OK and are about an hour from Moore, where they've had tornado after tornado after tornado. It's like they have a "Tornados, please land here" sign.

I have three towns around me that do have inspections. Eureka Springs, AR is the most stringent and that only because everything's "historic." I prefer working for the lake house people. They're loaded, inept and easy to upsell.

You mean that the locals 'sold it to the insurance company' -- and really cashed out.

Double-wide -- double score.
