Default Tesla chargers

Just thought I’d share this.

Customer bought a Tesla charger with a 4 wire cord connection for power. Never seen one like this before but wired it anyway. It all looked factory. After energizing it we got a fault condition.

Manual said it was a line and neutral crossed error. Not a chance. Called Tesla tech support and they inform me they don’t produce a cord connected charger, they are all hardwired.

So fast forward 18 hours and a Tesla rep is coming to the job with a “real” model and are going to take the old one to investigate.

Kudos to Tesla. They didn’t even make or sell this product to the customer but are making good on it.

Default Tesla chargers

The tech showed up and said this is a prototype that shouldn’t have even left. I then told it has errors. I should be on the Tesla team.

And he showed up in a Ford.

Maybe a Tesla is worth purchasing after all.
