The plumbers did a fine job of installing that heat pump.

More like 'the illiterate installers that couldn't even follow the pictures' made a big mistake.

At this point in life there aren't many firsts for me but there is one!

Wow. Should be noted most minisplit units have a minimum lineset length. Most are around 5 ft iirc.

That is only for the preset charge, if you adjust the charge it can be shorter.

What's wrong with that? I cool my house by leaving the fridge door open.

Actually, it's a very expensive and inefficient heater. The net result will be a slight increase in room temperature.

But I like the his and hers idea though. Who knows, this installation may very well save their marriage!

Could also be that the job specs called for no wall penetrations. The fact that it doesn't work always takes a back seat to job specs..........

It could have been worse.

They could have put the air handler/evaporator outside.

Reminds me of a Pollock joke (sorry Pollocks)

A polish guy was trying to hammer a nail in when his boss walked up and told him he had the nail backwards. The pollock was trying to hammer the nail in by hitting the point and trying to drive the head of the nail into the wall.

His boss, another pollock told him he was an idiot and he made all pollocks look stupid.
The boss took the nail and said. "this nail goes on that wall behind us, pointing backwards. Not this wall.

I know its stupid. But that picture makes this seem plausible!

A subtle way to say that the outside unit is also inside.
