I would recommend charging something anything I used to charge $75 but have gone to $90. Especially if you have to go way out there to price something. With the cost of gas and the cost of your time. I refund the estimate price when the work is done (most estimates are valid for 30 days). Also I do not charge everyone I use it as I see fit, but the way I see it if people squawk about paying for an estimate they will squawk when it's time to pay the bill and I don't want that headache.
