Default Whoops!

Utility pole installed in Lansingburgh street

LANSINGBURGH - A utility pole has drivers in Lansingburgh scratching their heads. The pole is installed in the street.

NewsChannel 13 got a viewer tip about the pole, which is located at 102nd Street and 5th Avenue.

Albany engineering company Creighton Manning is putting up a new traffic light at the intersection and says the pole is temporary.

There used to be a curb around the pole. It was removed to put in the ramp. The contractors say they had cones set up, but someone removed them. The cones are back up now.

I wouldn't say oops ... The traffic controller is still on that pole.

Common in traffic to keep the old plant around until all the new plant is installed ... then they schedule crews to changeover.

Once that's done, then someone comes in to remove the old.

Should have done the new pole before removing the curbing and leaving the pole out in the street.

You cannot see the top of the pole so I took a pic of it for you.
