Default Why circuit breakers are important

Why circuit breakers are important. Also demonstrates why wires in air can carry more current than those in a cable assembly or conduit.

Not a bad way to strip conductor insulation ..... i should concoct that, the smoke is legal since there is no fire.

Uninsulated# 12 copper can carry 200 amps in free air before it starts melting.

The audio proves in the very least its not in North America. If you listen to his transformer hum, its doing so at 50Hz, not 60

So if i'm viewing this correctly, our NZ sparky has upp'd the voltage , and fried both the branch circuit, then feed to the brkr w/o a load....?

If I heard the vid right he is stepping 380 volts down to 42 volts but with a much higher current (several hundred amps)

I will re-watch the vid.

Basically he is turning the wire into the load, the same thing that would happen with a utility set up involving a short circuit and no breaker, though current here is a tad lower.

I cant make up my mind if it was Kiwi or Australian, I was leaning towards Aussie due to the strip connectors he was using. He isnt a native born though I dont think from his accent.
