Not to be a diÁk, but why didn't you just go get a new 3 wire receptacle?




Also, I'd lay 20:1 on an inspection pass. All the inspector would "see" is 10/3, a 4 wire outlet, and a 2 pole 30.

We had already passed a ceiling inspection. Another, I'm guessing newer inspector came to look at several boxes along the wall and pass the final.

For whatever reason he asked for a ladder to look above the ceiling tiles. Even wanted us to set the ladder up for him.
