Wiremold 1-622 #167 Cutting Tool
I've been out of the electrical supply industry for a long time and figured it was time to take a look at the many boxes of old turn of the 1900's catalogs, manuals and tools that I had packed away at home. Whenever I came across something really old during contractor, mfgr or supplier closings, it would make its way to my desk for storage or research and for a time I even documented this in the early 2000's on the "internet". But, the shop needs to get cleaned out and the first tool I came to was one that was pulled from the shelves of a really old supply house we closed. Along with many other antiques, it was carried on the shelves as current inventory.
Figured I'd post a picture of it here for posterity. When I unbox the dozens of Hardcover distributor product line books, I'll look it up and try to get an earliest date but the wooden box speaks or themselves. Sill has the cosmoline protective coating on the metal. The craftsmanship of the supplies or tools is what made me save them. Nothing like placing an NOS brass fuse that unscrewed to allow it's link to be replaced alongside a new FRN-R to see how creative the early tradesmen were.
- I tried to post the images but I need 20 posts first so no go -
