Hate to rain on your parade but they cannot pass HDCP (High Definition Content Protected) signals. HDMI is better for video and audio, higher bandwidth. That is why DVI was dropped in favor of HDMI. All new AV receivers, TV's and Blu-ray players, cable boxes, and satellite boxes are HDMI V1.3.

Monoprice.com has the best prices for cables.
