Default Hello Guys!

Hey everyone, Tyler here from Colorado. I'm looking to join the Union, local 68 in Denver. I have completed the application and passed the aptitude test no problem. I just received a letter stating I passed and am scheduled for an interview on the 26th of this month!

I do have a couple questions though. I have a recommendation letter from my uncle, who is a long time member of the IBEW, and from what I've read on here the last couple months while lurking, having a family member in the local doesn't carry near as much weight as it used to, but will this still improve my chances in landing the apprenticeship? I also have previous experience in construction working for a union flooring company here as a helper for 4 summers while I was in high school, and then 2 years straight after I graduated.

I also wanted to get some thought on what to wear as all my previous jobs have been pretty casual and didn't require any fancy clothes. I'm thinking about wearing black khakis and a blue short sleeve collared shirt with a square pattern on it.
Here is what I'm thinking:

A closer look of the shirt:

I'm not sure whether this shirt is too casual or not. What do you all think? I really want to get into this program as it's my shot to finally get into a career rather than the low wage seasonal jobs I have been getting the last couple years.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Also if there's any advice you have I'm all ears! I've read a few threads on here with interview advice and they have been great.

And sorry about the double post, I looked all over for an edit option to my original post but couldn't seem to find it.
