Default Introduction

Hello to you all, I used to live in Canada. I now live in the dominican republic near the city of santiago. The electrical system here is just a little different. My house for example is of typical dominican style construction. No need for a furnace here. The main feed to my place is from across the street at a typical step down transformer. The power company does not run the line into my house, it seems to be my responsibility, I know this because somebody stole the lines and I had to buy them new again and replaced them myself. I upgraded them to #12 at the same time so that power to my house would be a little better. The volts entering at my 40 amp fuse box hovers at 85 to 95 volts so I have a kind of an accumulator that they sell here, I think it is mostly just capacitators, it seems to work well enough. Then I have 4 trojan batteries with a 1.5 Kv inverter that switches automaticaly. The power goes off everyday for at least 8-10 hrs. I also have a surge protector for 4 computers, 1 sterio, 4 tv's. The fridge has a built in surge protector. Anyways this is just my way of introduction.
