There does seem to be a fair amount of that going on here, but it is little different than in the outside world. Electricians seem to not respect each other as much as they should. It is as if another's knowledge is an affront to them.
There is a book out there called "Treat Me Like a Customer". It is about marital relationships but the premise is the same. If you differ with someone, don't walk out on the conversation. Discuss ...with respect.
