Not to hijack this thread, but the phrase "going rate" always makes me laugh a little.

A few years ago I had a prospective customer that said my quote was "above the going rate".

I replied with a question... "The companies that charge the going rate, where are they going?"

He did not answer and had a puzzled look on his face. So i told him "They are going out of business because they compete only on price".

I did not get that job and that's fine because I can't lose money on a job I don't get.
