Default Not so newbie

New to the forum but not the electrical field. Been at it for about 12 years now, but it appears I'm gonna have to step up my game. Who knew that getting a job at a Water Well outfit would land me in an electrical career but it has and I love it. Looking to hone in my skills on Drives and as of now start looking into possibly a course on PLC's and programming them.
Thanks for having me.

Welcome to the nuthouse Jason.

You ever do any work at the Konocti (sp?) Harbor Resort up there at Clear Lake? I used to work the shows there doing lighting and sound.

No. No work at Konocti as a matter of fact the resort is closed at this time (over a year now). I actually work for Clearlake Oaks Water.

Whoa, that's a surprise to me...did they close because of the economy? And do you/did you know the resort manager, Greg Bennett?

I had some um, interesting things come up at the resort..like the time in the winter we had a power outage and they wanted me to disconnect their main transformer and rig up a genny. Told them sorry, I don't mess with 12kv or that kind of temp hookup.

Sounds like there was a lot of shady stuff going on. The place was starting to show it's age not so well, And yes the economy around here has been in the crapper for some time. I went and watched one of the last shows in the out door amp e theater. The show was great but the place was only at about half capacity. Was a country show Brad Paisly I believe. Took the then wife. But I would have figured that place would have been wall to wall chicks with all of their guys lol.
However I was at a tanks 101 course a few months back in Napa and overheard a woman from the Konocti Water District saying that someone had bought it (again) seems like twice a year you hear that some star or rich person nabbed the place up and is gonna rebuild it.
We will see.
