Default In PA. & looking for a way in.

Does anyone know how the IBEW Pennsylvania Apprentice Coordinators Association is? I'm looking for on the job training & obviously don't know a thing about the union: pros, cons, any info would be a big help & greatly appreciated.

Lewisburg, just south of Williamsport.

In that case, you should think about looking at RACC. Met Ed hires linemen from their lineman program there, and you go directly into the UUW (pretty sure it's UUW), and not IBEW. You're pretty close to Reading, I believe.

Just checked, and RACC's lineman program is associated with an IBEW local I've never heard of, and not United Utility Workers.

Was that on their website? WACC (now called PA College of Technology) has a lineman program (AAS), but doesn't say who recruits there. Any idea???

Sorry, I do not. I know that RACC's program is essentially the education arm of Met Ed. When you enter the program, it's pretty much understood you're going to work for Met Ed.

I don't think Penn Tech has a very good job placement program for their electrical majors anyway, especially for line work. Thanks for the info on RACC, I'm looking into their program for this fall. I've heard that Met Ed is not a bad outfit to work for.
