OK.

I thought you just rewired the toilet and was like

Now I understand, you rewired the restroom.

Where did you get the supplies in Iraq??

Provided by the contractor, but most of their crap is Middle-East supplied out of Dubai,I'd imagine. We were asked to do NEC compliant work using materials that aren't even used here, not to mention having U.L. listing.Much of it is used in countries which follow the British Standard. On this unit,I ripped out all the trunking and cabling used ,and did it all in pipe and wire.I taught my helper,a Nepalese,to bend EMT.He might have been the only non-American who could bend EMT in Iraq and he was proud of his skills. Locating and obtaining conduit was, in itself, nearly impossible ,but I had my ways.I even had my own "warehouse" an unused trailer which I bartered for the use of.I would do their work-orders after my daily 12 hour shift in a priority fashion.I kept that trailer well-stocked - again,I had my ways - and did my best to give quick service. Not the norm over there.I got things done.

No,not a thing. Some things, like RCD protection for all circuits is great,as well as annual testing. We had to do validations using the Fluke 1653B,that we can't even get here. And the Brit electricians were often the sharpest around. But my point is that we were asked to do NEC compliant installations in all new and rewire situations, and we couldn't do so without U.L. listed materials. At best,it was a hybrid,at worst , a joke. The best electrician I met there was a former British military guy,a Master Electrician. They got smart and retained him as an instructor for the training center. He had been slated to go to a prison somewhere in southern Iraq.

BTW,how did a Brit sparky end up in Texas?Culture shock?Do you feel like you're watching re-runs of King of the Hill? Now,back to photos.

Surely someone of your stature and expertise could afford plastic surgery.
