Default Why is ESA's reputation so bad?

Just came across the reviews and I'm blown away https://www.google.com/search?client...E,lf:1,lf_ui:2

My experience with ESA has generally been good aside from 1 or 2 issue with a particular inspector. I'm not sure if RBO is going to help their online status but these complaints are not good for business.

Not sure, all of our dealings with them have been good.

There is a website posted in one of the comments:
StopESA trying to start a class action lawsuit.

Some of the posts are claiming that it is to assist in contractors making money- but if you go to the website above, the graphic shows a different story.

There has always been complaints regarding their inability or unwillingness to accurately schedule appointments.

We have an excellent relationship with all of our inspectors in this area; and when I work out of area the interaction has always been great too. I suspect they treat LECs based on their quality of work and past history; if you are known for doing shoddy work I suspect they don't have too much time for you.

I also think they might be the same with DIY; while I have heard both good and bad from homeowners, generally they seem to be pretty good. The bigger centres like Toronto, Hamilton, Ottawa might be different; although I work in Toronto and Hamilton and my inspectors have been good.

Cheers
John

Luckily for ESA, there is no other option, we must use them for inspection.

Also, only people who are not satisfied make comments there. It's not often people take the time to make a good comment unless there is something in it for them. Like I bought a car last year and the salesperson told me if I make a good comment and mention her on google I will get a free oil change.

For instance, you, the modifier and navy guy all said you have had good service, did any of you make a good comment on google?

I can't speak for the others, but I don't look at ESA like a business / service; I look at them as an extension of my business requirement, so I don't think a rating is warranted. All the people that complain about the ESA, I wonder if they complain about their fire department, or by-law officer, etc?

While there is no doubt that ESA relies on "customers", I don't think they are out there trying to get "customers" and are worried about competition. For the record, I have submitted letters of complaint and appreciation regarding inspectors that I have worked with which I think is more valuable then a google review anyway.

Cheers
John
