Hi! thank you for your quick response to my thread about dropping power from a ceiling.

Unfortunately all they give us is EMT, and they wont special order anything for just a 2 gang outlet box.

I think a cord drop is out of the question, since there are pallets and product being moved around in the vicinity and they wouldnt want anything that can catch on a hanging cord.

As it is right now, Im being told attach a stick of unistrut to the post and clamp the EMT to that, then attach the box to the unistrut. I just wanted to be sure there isnt a glaring problem with this method.

Hey there, I've come across several of your post on many different threads and like a lot of what you have to say. I'd send you a friend request, but i'm new to the forum and haven't figured out how yet!
Update: Ha! just as I submitted this message, I looked to the right and saw the "befriend" button!

your homer-dixon post in the Mueller thread.
i worked with an engineer that left first-solar and he will even admit the same thing. i would guess you are aware of it but they are implementing some energy storage ideas that might let them net some energy.

i don't know if this article is any good but this is something i have heard about, using the excess wind power to pump water into reservoirs for hydro power, it's a hydro power battery.

Ah so it makes the potential difference the same as any other part of the ground as opposed to an easier path of travel, even in that case it'd make sense to use the full length required by code. For the record, I understand sometimes you have no choice, but my main job would consist of doing that on a weekly basis or regularly, I can't do that. I'm not being picky, I just can't make a regular practice of that

Thanks for the info! I definitely know that retail is 100% different than the professional electrician field, and Iím excited to get away from retail. Thumbed through Uglyís and not intimidated at all. A portion Iím already familiar with and looking forward to becoming familiar with the rest.

    Greatly appreciate the advice!

What's true in Vancouver is just as true in Orange County and San Francisco.

Local median incomes of $85,000 per year are wholly inconsistent with area wide home prices of $2,000,000 and 40% price ramps in a SINGLE YEAR.

The true source of this insanity is Beijing. So it's not something that the West can easily stop.

North American is going to HAVE to revert to 'Yellow Laws' circa 1880 to stop what amounts to an invasion of the MOST corrupt elements of Red China. ( Without a CCP connection, you're NOT getting Big Monies out of Red China.)

    For more:

This surge in wealth transfer -- which is creating a fulsome bubble would NOT occur if Red China was not Red.

Note that Taiwan's citizens don't lack for wealth -- but they are not fleeing Taipei.
