This Northeastern wind is dragging nasty arctic air with it. Insulated coveralls and Sorels arent enough. How do you subzero sparkys do it? Seen those Milwaukee electric jackets etc but mostly on whiners when it was 40 degrees still. My dang hands ceased to function!

I layer up with 1 piece long johns and top it off with Carhartt coveralls.
But the trick is these hand warmers. One on each pocket, one inside the work gloves and one inside each boot.
I have a new helmet linger that covers the neck and shoulders also..
Even during last winters blizzard I was walking around like it was summer.

Now who's the whiner.

Drop for the jacket and it'll go a long way to keeping you warm. Still gotta bundle up to keep the feet warm, legs warm, hands warm and head warm. But it does the job.

WHINER! :whistling2:

-46 here with the wind! Ambient temp was -34C and pretty much peaked at -25C in the late afternoon..
Helly Hansen long underwear, helly hansen glove liners, leather gloves, jeans, t-shirt, hoodie, insulated jean jacket, lid liner, baffin boots and coveralls.. Minimizing the exposure time is huge!!
Heat trace/heater repairs today... 2 of my jobs were inside today.. 2 were not, but not long duration outside (maybe half an hour each)... Started the truck at 6:30 this morning and shut it down at 4:30 (aka beer o'clock)...The truck definately didn't want to go this morning...

How do you even move in all that.
Coveralls aren't insulated.. As for the rest.. Just got used to it.. The glove liners help alot just as a thermal break for your fingers to bolts, screws, etc.. My winter boots are good to -100 and last night my toes got a little chilled for the first time ever.. Had to stand on a checker plate floor watching a sight glass to help with manual dumps on a frozen transmitter for about 2 hours..

I really love to surf Maile point when it is on. But for what ever reason , the valley opposite it funnels the wind from the top of Mount Ka'ala right down on top of the outside reef at Maile point. Cold air. It is nice at noon, but in late afternoon, I can only handle it for maybe an hour. It is really a weird phenomenon . Brrrrrrrrrrrrr.
