I have it in the 2011- assume it is the same

517.21 Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter Protection for
Personnel. Ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection for
personnel shall not be required for receptacles installed in
those critical care areas where the toilet and basin are installed
within the patient room.

It's in the 2014 Code, as well. Here's the Handbook explanation:

This requirement does not exempt receptacles installed in bathrooms for critical care spaces from the GFCI requirements in 210.8(B). It also does not exempt receptacles in other bathrooms for patients, staff, or the public from the requirements of 210.8(B). Patients in critical care areas are often bedridden. Therefore, a basin and toilet may be provided within the patient room or as part of the bed assembly. Although the presence of a basin and toilet meets the definition of a bathroom, the receptacles are exempt from the GFCI requirement because of the specialized use of a critical care space.
