3 phase triad.

When we pull cantols on tray we tie them in a triad pattern, with the neutral and earth tied in beside them on the next space. Is there any reason you couldnt tie the neutral in on top of one of the phases or is this aesthitics and for identification purposes?

Do you guys put your phase and neutral cantols in the same conduit?

The phases are together to cancel each other out, even better if they are triplexed.
They will stack nice as three.
The neutral and ground are the same potential as the tray so, it might just be easy to keep them organized in the tray like that.
