It's time for your mactip of the day!

I "borrowed" this from a very smart EC that lives around the corner from me , named Keith . Hats off.

Radio ad. Features a "free" fire extinguisher to the first 50 customers who purchase a "Total Home electrical inspection" Pull an avg $4,000 out of upsells on all those who are after the "free" fire extinguishers. Even better would be to have Joe T tag along with you....

Whoops, this was supposed to go into the "Flyboy's cost calculator thread. Too many damn windows open...

Lets say your priced for a 65% margin and you aren't going to hit your numbers you may have to take a few jobs at 55% or 50% margin to meet sales goals.

Maybe you could offer the client Saturday for no extra charge, offer a free surge arrestor if it was a panel change or service upgrade, offer a lifetime warranty on the panel and breakers, find a way to entice them to go ahead with the job.

Why you think this? Unless you are Cheap Charlie your closing rate wont be 100% . We have gotten work by doing a follow up call. We don't close at 100% but we do everything we can to get as close as possible.

You call me cheap Charlie and then say you do everything you can to close as close to 100 percent as possible?

If you are closing at close to 100 percent it's time to raise your prices

No did not call you Cheap Charlie.
We don't close at 100% but why throw in the towel just because someone did not call back.

Because I make enough money and I have more then enough work to have to worry and pander to the people who didn't go with my company.

Since I really don't advertise most of my work comes from my existing customer base so it's usually never an issue but I definitely wouldn't call a customer and beg to do a job, move on and spend your efforts on someone who wants quality and can pay for it .

I make way to much money but I can always make more I am always looking to increase sales so a follow up with a client is always in order.

We advertise as well as get work from a massive customer base more work means more vans on the road .I would never beg for a job either but a call reminding a customer of our interest in them can go a long way when they are choosing someone not based on price.

But you don't do it so it is not right for you but not everyone is hoping sandy work will last for ever.

Besides, a lot of customers are busy people and haven't had time to think about your proposal. A call may remind them and help them make a decision.

Vista print is fast, cheap and good customer service. However their product lacks some quality. Cards are thinner then who I use locally and the white on cards and brochures are not a bright white like others. In a business card holder they look flawed due to the white issue. Or atleast that is what we found from our previous orders.
