Customer has 10 hihats on a 3-way and one receptacle on a circuit. He said the breaker has tripped 3 times in the last 3 months but nothing is plugged in to the outlet and it doesn't happen when he turns the lights on. Just random trip. I opened the panel and they landed the neutral wire on the neutral bar and not on the afci breaker. Would this cause random tripping of the breaker? I moved the neutral to the breaker. Everything is tight in the switches and outlet. Lights are 18' high so I couldnt take them apart to look for a loose connection. Hopefully problem solved??

For the afci to work correctly the neutral from the load must connect to the breaker and the breaker pigtail connects to the neutral bar. I have no idea if that was the issue. I would think it would happen all the time not periodically.

Try it and see but I suspect something else
