Ok, I know it's cold out here in the Northeast but I want some input on this:

What's the Max BTU's (Residential in window A/C) for a 15a or 20a circuit. Dedicated HR - 120 volts.

Depending on its efficiency, a 120 Volt unit should be able to produce up to about 14-15,000 BTU.

Anything above that will usually require a 240 Volt circuit.

I figure 14-15k was the break point on a 120v run.

If you do the math with BTU to Watts and work it back it's like 5-6k and you're like WTF?
Converting BTU's to Watts is only straight forward in electrical resistance heating. With air conditioners you have to divide your figure again by the coefficient of performance for the particular unit to get your energy consumption
