But it has so many gushing 5 star reviews! I'm definitely getting one.

Yep... I ordered a 5 star trap for catching skunks (We back up to a big farm, so we get tons of them). BIG MISTAKE! If I could have rated it less that 1... say a -5 I sure would have.

what it didnt catch them ?
or now you had to get rid of them?

i had something digging under the edge of the house one time and set a leg trap, luckily i was expecting it to be a skunk
i had tied the trap to a 50' rope staked down in the pasture outside
next morning tie the rope to the truck bumper and take off down the pasture
untie the rope, shoot the skunk and haul buggy to avoid the stink
came back next week for the rope and trap

The design was all screwed up so the trap door wouldn't even work. I was finally able to fix it but it was a pain in the butt.
I have done something similar to your technique a few times, but one time I failed to drag the trap far enough away and got in big trouble with the lady boss because the prevailing wind came directly toward our house.
