I carry a cell.

I don't think they exist anymore. Used a service in 1975 for a few years. Pager (beeped only) was 17 times the size of my smart phone.

There are still companies out there. I have personally used one but you might be able to try Hello inc. to start. As for cost it depends on the features like transcribed messages/call logs to email, voicemail, pager etc.

In my area, they are worthless, our phone system calls forwards to my cell off hours.

NOW, before we got the new system the system was better, it would call me three times about 15 minutes apart now it only calls once. But I sleep with the phone next to me and that I know of I have not missed a call.

Been working this was for 29 years, before that we had a service, either they let it ring and ring and ring and ring, or answered and put you on hold forever or no Habla English.

I have taken my phone to Europe and got calls, I was standing on the Great Wall of China and took a call (someone else had the standby phone). BUT at sea it can be iffy.
