Wouldnt mind seeing some photos with one loaded up. Checked one out today at the supply house and was told they sell em to all the hipsters and sailors. Not sure what the heck that means....

I have one but I haven't used it too much though. The straps are thin but the general build quality is good IMO. It's not really designed as a backpack modified for tools, it seems more like a toolbag modified to become a backpack. The bottom is a very shallow plastic "bucket" instead of the nylon like those found on schoolyard backpacks.

Saw the Klein at a HD
pockets too shallow for 9-1/2" linesman
straps are crap...too thin, no padding
China made
love the hard bottom
probably be good for a electronics/telecom guy or schoolbooks
didn't consider buying...sorry.
Im surprise, it wouldn't hold a pair of linemans?

The pockets are shallow and your pliers flop around. It won't hold long screwdrivers very well, and the three velcro pockets aren't very secure. I got it for free through the company so i can't complain. I wouldn't pay my own money for it. It has been a life saver on a few occasions walking from the work truck with two hands packed full of tools.

Here ya go...
Folks weren't kidding: Those top pockets look wicked shallow.

I've been trying to find one locally to look at closer: I do a ton of moving around and also have to carry all kindsa paperwork and a laptop, I think a backpack would really suit me.

I'll probably end up springing for the Veto Tech Pac, but I'm a cheapskate and gotta talk myself into it.

If you like your tools to sit in a pocket 3/4 of the way or more, which is what i prefer, you will not like it. If that doesn't bother you, give it a try. The fish tape pocket on the outside is what bothers me... give me a full zipper pocket or two divided deep pockets with velcro flaps. But not one tool bag will suite everyone so go to the supply house and throw a few tools in it and see it for yourself.
