appliances added after the fact

So I'm on a kitchen final and I need to get out of there to other jobs . I always run one 15 amp dedicated circuit under the sink as part of the appliance package I offer to that contractor. I knew they were getting a GD, it's in the paperwork. The customer decided to add a 850 watt instahot too.
My total combined amperage from both appliances nametags are 14.7 amps. I installed a duplex in place of the single receptacle. Do you think this will pose a problem down the line?

I dont think so. Its happened to me before and i cant recall an issue
Just had the same issue. Customer wants an instahot after the sheetrock is up.

If you are going to go through the trouble of running a spare circuit.. why not run a #12 and CYA...

It will never go to waste and just might make you money down the line...

Seems like every job once the walls go up, the customer decides what they want.
Install single pole, double throw switch (3 way) for disposal, disposal on, insta hot off. No one leaves the disposal on for long. I'd use a spec grade switch for the load though.

Simple Doc. Just pull new wire through the pipe run that goes to the kitchen.
Thats what I do :jester:
Neither the GD or the instant hot are drawing current for long. I seriously doubt that a 15 would ever trip.

Actually, I doubt it'd ever trip if both loads were drawing their nameplate current continuously.

You could probably run both around the clock and the breaker would hold

What is an instahot?
A small tankless water heater at the kitchen sink
