Sorry if this has been discussed already but has anyone used an arc fault tester that finds the arc fault. We have a house that keeps tripping but we cant find the problem even after taking all the devices out.

Replaced the arc fault breaker? Megger the circuit wiring yet? Test swap the arc with a gfi breaker and put load on the circuit?
Checked the service entrance wiring? (l just fixed an afci trip issue when I upgraded the service and had the poco redo the drop attachment splices. )

50/50 chance the problem is the breaker and not the wiring.

Any feedback from the customer on what they are doing when the breaker trips? Inductive loads will false trip most AFCI breakers. Things like vacuum cleaners, space heaters, etc, will cause you issues. If it is not the load they are using, then I would be meggering the wiring.

I have one and it works pretty good. You are welcome to come get it and give it a shot. If you do any business with Echo ask them if you can try out Devyns(the Siemens rep). Sometimes it can just be a cheap switch with a decent load on it.
Oh, it not a tester it is a diagnostic tool.:whistling2:

that will do it

I remember doing that 12+ years ago when we first started using those god awful things
Well then, I guess afci's made an electrician out of you. I too am more careful of how I make up multigang boxes, and always double check outlets to make sure the ground is not contacting neutral. Afci's have made an electrician out of me.
