My customer wants a watt meter for his 17 KW Generator ATS. Have any recommendations ?

I found one by Reliance rated at 50A -12.5 KW, but I would like 70A- 16KW-17KW

Also looked at the wireless monitor by Generac, but read bad reviews

I use the Blue Sea meters on my generators. They work real good and I have not had any problems with them. On my new gen I put 2 so I can see my load on both hot legs. I like to see whats going on when I use them. May be over kill but that's me. lol

dronai. I paid 245.00 each from goto marine. Still expensive though for your customer. Here is the link: www.go2marine.com . I have the 8247 model. It does volts, amps, watts and freq. also high and low alarm on the volts and amps. They have other meters also which are cheaper but I am not sure on the UL approval stuff.
I don't care about UL approval on this application. Need to find cheaper for this guy.

Cheaper - EnviR monitor.

The Envi kit from here, $129

http://www.bestpowermeter.com/www.currentcost.net/monitor.html

Add the $12 USB serial cable and you can go here for free PC monitoring with the Meniscus dashboard

http://home-energy.meniscus.co.uk/

As sample of the PC display of 1 hour live display of both channel's watts and a channel selectable 24 hour display. (It also has kw hour and costing features.) You can add another pair of clamps with another transmitter to monitor your main service.

Allied Electronics may have something cheaper. I do not have there big catalog here but will look on Monday when I goto work. You could check there on line web site for what you need. The blueSea just has those doughnut ct's for a signal for the amps and the volts just 2 wires. Allied has all kinds of meters just a matter of $$$ and what they have for ya. I have done our DC motor systems with A simpson panel analog meters and the shunts in the line. They work real good.
