What do you consider the best skill set for a well rounded electrician.

For me

Learning to bend conduit.
Residential wiring
Trouble shooting skills I learned doing residential and light commercial service.

If you can do this you can work in almost any aspect of the trade.

All very good and important skills for a well rounded sparkie. I would add having even a rudimentary knowledge of PLC's and motor controls. Even the most basic of knowledge in those two things can and will help you immensely in your career.

Figuring any color for any circut number in your head should be easy when you know the color coding scheme to start with.
We all know there are lots electricians out there who can't do it though.

The best electrician can figure things out even if he has never done it before. The best contractor, like someone else said, makes excessive amounts of money.

I was good right until the last one. I can not make an ass out of myself or not upset the ladies, but I can't do both at the same time.

Chit, how do you do this again? Divide by 6 and then count the remainders on brown, orange, yellow?

Pretty much..........anything evenly divided by 6 is on the "C" phase as well as the circuit across from it. Count one way or the other from there.
