Bonding for 1st swimming pool job

2113 Views 10 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  SteveBayshore
I'm going to estimate my first swimming pool job. I've been reading about swimming pool bonding and I've seen the term "exothermic weld" several times. I'm concerned that special welding may be required to bond rebar or other metal surfaces to the solid 8 AWG bonding wire.

Can I complete all swimming pool bonding with connectors and clamps or will welding be required?

If no welding required, are specialized clamps and connectors typically available at electric supply houses or will I be ordering over the internet. The link is one site that offers specialized swimming pool fittings.

...who Caldwell's pools, its not a requirement of the NEC? Don't forget the potting compound for the ground wire for the underwater light, because inspectors will definitely look for it
