I have a client with a pool pump that is located underneath the house. The existing pump is 110, they bought a 240V pump. The old pump wasn't bonded. Do I have to bust out the slab around the pool to tie into the rebar around the pool? I never have dealt with pools (I apprenticed in an area with almost zero pools), so I always turn down the work. This guy said he just wanted me to pull a 240V line, but if I tie in the pump I want to make damn sure it's bonded correctly.

No way I'd leave that pump unbonded.
Do whatever you need to do to tie into the bonding grid or conductor.

Why would you even need to pull a new "240V line"? A 240V pump will have basically half the current of a 120V pump.. use the same wires.

You assume that the pump is on a dedicated circuit. It's not.
