Hey Guys-
I just found this site while searching for a possible fix to a warranty problem I'm having for a customer's home. This is a freak problem I haven't seen before. The customer is complaining about every light in his home pulsing/buzzing at all hours of the day. I went to troubleshoot and the lights like fluorescent lights during warm up (pulsing back and forth like you can actually see the 60hz in the light). There are only incandescents in the whole house and it does it non-stop. I've checked for voltage fluctuations and the power frequency is dead on at 60Hz. This shows across multiple circuits. I thought maybe a problem with the incoming line, so the power company came out and did a simulated load and said everything looks good on their end. I did change the Main breaker thinking that it's the only common point across all circuits.
My first thought was a loose neutral but this doesn't seem to show a high and low side of the phases.
Any idea's what else I can check? I still feel it's the power company but how do I prove that?
Thanks
Kyle
