So I was doing a google street view of a new home development in California and noticed every house on the street had a red sprinkler bell on the front corner of the house near the street. State requirement? I know they're required for commercial sprinklers but didn't think it mattered for resi.

I wonder how many people will paint over the bell once they own the house. :whistling2:

We have some townhouse like that here.
No requirement for inspection and half of them have either rotted off the hardware or are loaded with incest nests.
The backup plan seems to be watching the sprinkler water flow out from under the garage door.

Not required yet here unless it's part of submittals for a development for the most part. Mostly see the NFPA 13D systems myself. Haven't worked on a larger building in a few years now. 13d has much looser requirements but I guess good enough for a dwelling.
