Anybody got a favorite cover/insert to keep texture and paint out of can lights?

That means the can has to be completely sealed off at the ceiling. Yeah, it's the painter's/drywaller's job - just looking for something that works and is quick. Thinking something resembling a flexible pot pie plate. I'm not really interested in replacing 50 cans after paint is done and looking for a product to pass along to drywaller
Those only protect the socket. What is wrong with the little red ones that come with the cans?
Wow.. Guess I'm not doing my job. Never heard of that one. So what code section are you violating? Are you guys around any real work?

My guess is the interior of can isn't "listed" to be painted.Pete m. said:Wow.. Guess I'm not doing my job. Never heard of that one. So what code section are you violating? Pete
You get the cigar but I don't deal in tobacco products or other drugs either so I have no idea who gives you the cigarMy guess is the interior of can isn't "listed" to be painted.
That's a pretty flimsy basis for enforcement. Surface mounted conduit, J-boxes and fittings are painted all the time. Your inspector needs to get a life. You get the cigar but I don't deal in tobacco products or other drugs either so I have no idea who gives you the cigar
pretty darn strict electical inspectors but that is correct, the luminaire was built without paint, it was tested without paint so it must be paintless in installation or it has been altered from its listing which voids the listing.
Id faint if an inspector said this to me. When i wake up, id try slipping him 100Mshea said:You get the cigar but I don't deal in tobacco products or other drugs either so I have no idea who gives you the cigarpretty darn strict electical inspectors but that is correct, the luminaire was built without paint, it was tested without paint so it must be paintless in installation or it has been altered from its listing which voids the listing.
