What would be the violation? Why would I run 3 wire if all I needed are two?

Using two 14-2's in lieu of a 14-3 isn't a violation for nm

~CS~
I ran my feed thrus thru the open basement between gang boxes, having 3 ways between them it only made sense to pull a second two wire at the same time , I use a black marker and stripe the white conductor upon entering and making up the boxes. I'm not cheap just frugal, don't feel like using unnecessary material. Out five 3way systems , 2 are wired in 3 wire spliced thru in the fixture box, if we were in 11' that would be a violation.

I feel like I can read minds, and predict the future....the next guy to look in that box is going to be thinking, "WTF, what a [censored] hack. I bet the last guy thought he was a real genius..."
LOL
Ok, since you asked us to be nice, I'll say that I like seeing the SIMPull Romex.

I used to do this in 14/4, but can't find any LI SH that stocks it, I can't even find 14/2/2 out here. I don't mind competition calling me names, while they are throwing money away in material, I am keeping it in my pocket. This also makes it more challenging for the average service guy who sticks to white to white, black to black and red to red.
