Just as the title says, im checking if I did the work right. I am currently in Japan, which runs 100v 50Hz in their homes. The family that I am installing a dryer for purchased an American one which uses 120v 60Hz. I know that if they plug it up straight it will run at 80%. But if I read correctly in a couple threads in this forum, if we up the voltage to 200v 50Hz, it will solve the problem of running at a lower efficiency. Is my understanding correct?

sounds like you need an electrician. It will probably run fine on 100v 50hz.

If you run a 120V dryer at 200V, you're going to smoke it. !20V clothes dryers are useless anyway.
