I would just like to add to the closed post, that I have experimented with electrical components for years. One should be careful, and try to protect yourself, but it can be a learning expierence.

I mean how do you think I figured I could start fires with a megger. Ever see 4/0 THHN across the terminals of a battery (DO NOT BREATH), lay 2 4/0 Locomotive cables side by side and run 30,000 amps through them, talk about whip lash.

I learned a lot about transformers playing with them.

Not that we are in that league but early electrical developers were just experimenting....

Or I am just trying to justify the fun I am having.

I agree!
There is always the what-if question that I have to keep answering. This is how a person grows. If you do not try...you do not learn.

It is like a freshly painted wall that has a "Wet Paint" sign on it. How many of you have touched the paint with your finger to see if it is still wet?:whistling2:

I am still waiting for someone to put the amps to a Ideal 30--084 In-Sure push in wire connector to see how many amps it really will endure before it starts smoking. If I had the equipment, I would of done it a long time ago. Inquiring minds really want to know.
John I can generate up to 60,000 amps, I just do not know the product your talking about..PLUS I think I owe Marc a test on a ground crimp (RIGHT?).

Willing to do both, just need the time

Marc give me a test scenario and I'll do the test PROMISE
