I got a call last night from a long time customer, he has a site where the electrician wanted to saw cut a trench for a 2" conduit, he said no to them. They have come back and want to saw cut a glad width to install a comm cable.

Would this be legal, a comm cable inserted in a saw width cut that is flash patched.

And before you answer

Yes I can look it up, BUT I AM LAZY.
No I do not do communication were so I do not know the answer off the top of my head.
No I am not a code expert so I do not know the answer off the top of my head.

What non-answers am I missing

Use direct burial rated cable and I don't see why not. When it comes to comm cable I use the code voice inside my brain

But is it buried or incapsulated in concrete?

The first thing to do would be to find a communication cable that would be approved for being encased in concrete. Not sure if they make a communication cable for that application?
