:whistling2: I've been cold calling companies, trying to gain employment as a Starter Electrician, but have not had any luck. I've made some contacts that may help further down the road, but, unfortunately that doesn't help as of right now. Thought I had something possibly with K-Jay Electric, but it didn't fall through as I was hoping.
I'm in Edmonton, born and raised. 26yrs. Anyone have some advice. I'll take any! Thank you for your time.

CSTS for sure. It's not easy finding a starter's, even in Alberta. Keep trying. Cold calling is good. It shows more motivation than staying at home on your computer.have you taken any electrical training courses,, do you have good mechanical aptitude?
get as much electrical training at night classes as you can.

Try KVR Electric on the West End. They offered me a job back in October after I took one at another spot. The ads always say "must be indentured", "no starters please". I got offers for two jobs with those things in their ads, as a "starter". I had unregistered experience from back in 09, but selling yourself helps. CSTS for sure.
I'm looking for a Salesman they're hard to find, maybe I should try saleswoman..:laughing:When I was in sales and cold calling I could never get past the receptionist about 90% of the time.
But I saw guys waltz in, with a good looking assistant.![]()
I'm glad I didn't go on with them then! :thumbsup:I gave KVR Electric a call. They just laid a bunch of guys off. I'll call them back in a few weeks.
Your future boss will want someone that can follow instructions reliably and work hard. Any "electrical concepts" you will need will be learned in due time throughout your apprenticeship.I'm thinking I'll register for this course in the next few days.
