Is there conduit fill requirement for control wires?

If I'm pulling Belden cable in jacket cables. Is the 40% still apply?

Yes, you don't have to derate control wiring but you do have to follow conduit fill.

I used to have a homemade chart for 8762 and 8763 fill.

Look up the number of the cable you are using. Belden had data sheets for all their cables. They should list cross sectional area somewhere.

Fill over 40% and good luck pulling... When the outer jacket of most Belden is exposed to friction it becomes sticky... Don't be cheap on the 77 either!

Select the type of belden you got and your conduit size

it will automaticly tell your maximum fill % and how many cable you can put in.

You used to be able to get a free conduit capacity chart off the Belden site. It showed most of the common cable and the number you could put in each size conduit. http://www.four51.com/UI/Customer.a...60E2&CEI=e4a83fa9-3ca9-4614-98d9-e70e5127ddd4 Doesn't look like it is available any more. Luckily, I have a few left.

Just make your own calculator in a spread sheet. As long as you have either the diameter or area of the cable the calculation is simple.
