Condux and current cable pullers

Anyone have any experience with either the condux or current brands of cable pullers? I rented a greenlee 686 tugger and it was barley able to pull in 4- 500 mcm into a 3" conduit. No I did not install the 3" conduit . If im not mistaken we returned it with about 4 less teeth on the gears then we got it with.

I dont have much experince with the 686 tugger but one question what the pulling rating on that one ?? sound like you have very hard pull there.

Merci, Marc
Condux makes utility tools, and they're sort of an older name in lineman tools. Don't know anything about their puller, but I have a 300' rodder from Condux that works okay. Current Tools mostly makes nearly identical copies of Greenlee and Ridgid stuff, and they have a good reputation. I've never used anything they make, as far as I know.

4000 pound max and 2000 pound continues
After looking at the different pullers the condux and current ones seem to stay together and not need a job box to move them. They have what appears to be large diameter wheels that would allow easy movement. I was hoping to find something so I would not need every guy on a site to stop work just to get the tugger out or run to the shop and load it. It seems that with a set of ramps you could get these 2 in and out with 2 people. The Greenlee has to pulled down and stuck in a job box to move the thing making the job box about 600 pounds and taking 4 people to load and unload it. But if the greenlee is the **** I would just get it.
